This middle eastern plum is considered the ancestor of the plums we consume today. Blue Damson plum trees are small, blue-black tart plums prized for jams, jellies and chutney for many years. The Blue Damson plum, when cooked, develops a tartness and spiciness perfect for preserves.

It’s cold hardy, bears heavily and is dependable and self-fruitful. A relatively small tree great for the home garden.

 

  • Ripens typically from August to early September
  • Is self-fertile, but planting two trees is recommended for a better crop
