Serbian Spruce Tree (Picea omorika)

This pyramidal-shaped Spruce tree has wonderful winter interest and showy fruit that attracts birds. It is one of the most attractive spruce trees and can be planted on expansive lawns as a specimen or in groups. The Serbian Spruce tree grows narrow and has a pyramidal shape. It has frosty-looking blue-green needles. If you are searching for a large evergreen that performs well in cold climates, this is it!
- This variety of spruce does not like to be planted in the open where winter wind can dry them out
- It prefers rich, moist, well-drained soil (will tolerate alkaline sites)
- Loves full sun
- These make excellent specimen plants in the landscape
- In hotter climates, make sure to water the tree well and frequently.
- Single row – space 14’ apart, double row – space 18’ apart, multiple rows – 20’ apart
