‘Profusion’ is a unique beauty among the crabapples. It has dark red buds that pop open to reveal a remarkable dark pink, purplish bloom. These blooms completely cover the tree in spring and they are highlighted by the backdrop of purple, green leaves that unfold at the same time. In summer it will produce the small fruit that crabapples are known for and if you are looking for a crabapple but shy away because of the possible mess from the fruit you should consider this variety.
