Roseland Red Honeycrisp is a red sported Honeycrisp. It was discovered in Virginia. It develops a more consistent red color than the original Honeycrisp and is very very cold hardy. It has survived -40F degrees. Otherwise, it is the same as Honeycrisp.
This apple was bred by the University of Minnesota specifically for cold hardiness. It was selected in 1974 and released in 1991.
