This excellent little tree easily works alone or within a deciduous privacy screen; its short stature and resilience to pollution and poor soil suit it for urban environments. The tiny blooms have a pleasant fragrance, and clusters of scarlet, red-winged seeds called samaras festoon the branches late in summer. 'Flame' turns a brilliant, fiery red in autumn.
